Accommodation and Meals

Participants who booked accommodation on the registration form will be staying at student hostel JAK, free of charge. Rooms have three beds, although only two participants will share one room (with a few exceptions). Every room has a bathroom and small kitchen. Breakfast is not included in the accommodation.
 
Participants who ordered lunches on the registration form will eat in student cafeteria for about 80 CZK (approx. 3.3 EUR) per lunch. The lunches will be paid directly in the cafeteria in CZK. The lunch on November 5 is free of charge as part of workshop. Welcome party, organized on Monday at 18:00, includes dinner, free of charge. There are also coffee breaks scheduled in the program.

Excursion to Augustine Abbey

Participants who ordered this in registration form are invited to attend excursion to Augustine Abbey which is part of the building complex where the workshop is organized on Nov. 5. Excursion is organized after workshop from 17:20 to 18:20. Morning excursion (planned for 8:00 - 9:00) was cancelled due to lack of interest. Participants who chose the morning exursion can attend to the afternoon one.

Registraton of Participants

Registration will take place on November 2 in the reception area of the hostel (building D) from 17:00 to 19:00 and on November 3 in building A3 of the University campus from 8:00 to 9:00. If you cannot be present at the registration, please, send email to interactions08@chemi.muni.cz to arrange another solution.
The registration is free of charge, no payment will be required.

Transportation Information

The Ph.D. course will take place in lecture room 117 in building A3 of the University campus, except on Wednesday, when the workshop will take place in lecture hall of Mendel Museum. Plenary lectures of R. Woods and J. Essex will take place in Aula of the Faculty of Science, Kotlarska 2.

How to get to the hostel?
  • From the main train station
  • From the main bus station Zvonarka
    • Walk from Zvonarka through Vankovka mall and TESCO (or down Plotni street) to the main train station. Go through underpass under the main train station. Then take Tram 5 as described above.

  • From the main bus station Zvonarka
    • Bus No. 61 can be taken from bus station Zvonarka stop (it takes 15 minutes to campus). Get off the bus at Kamenice stop (not University Campus stop).
  • From the main train station
    • Go through underpass under the main train station to TESCO supermarket and Vankovka mall (approx. 3 minutes). Take the bus No. 61 from Uzka stop, direction to University Campus (it takes 12 minutes to campus). Get off the bus at Kamenice stop (not University Campus stop).

    • Take trolley-bus No. 25 (direction to Stary Liskovec, Osova) or 26 (direction to Kamenny vrch) from Merhautova stop (it takes about 17 minutes to Mendlovo square). Get off the bus at Mendlovo namesti stop.

  • From hostel JAK
    • Take trolley-bus No. 25 (direction to Stary Liskovec, Osova) or 26 (direction to Kamenny vrch) from Merhautova stop (it takes about 10 minutes to Konecneho namesti). Get off the bus at Konecneho namesti stop.
  • From Continental hotel
    • It is the best to go walk from Continental hotel directly to Faculty of Science via Kounicova street (10-15 minutes of walk).
