The genetic information in our DNA holds the key to personalised medicine. But any of us who have had a genetic test in a medical facility have quickly discovered that current testing typically focuses on only a small number of genes, with testing targeted to a very specific purpose, such as a hereditary disease in the family. But thanks to the technological revolution in bioinformatics, we can now read entire genomes, including the most complex regions.
