NCBR students and employees are cordially invited to join scientific seminars that cover a broad range of disciplines in biomolecular research. These seminars are conducted in English to promote international communication and scientific exchange and are open to all interested scientists, not just those from Masaryk University.

NCBR Seminar Series

The National Centre for Biomolecular Research (NCBR) seminar series is a discussion platform for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students and researchers in structural biology and bio-omics fields who use integrated experimental and computational approaches. The seminar series meets weekly during spring and autumn terms; each seminar lasts approximately two hours, with time for presentations, questions, and discussion in English.

Presentations from NCBR and guest researchers provide cutting-edge research findings and novel ideas to the audience. The seminars also provide an excellent opportunity for students to enhance their presentation and communication skills in front of a diverse audience.

Structural Biology Seminars

This seminar series will be short & informative scientific contributions, max. 50 minutes while each seminar will cover one research topic with a brief presentation supported by a chalk talk and discussion (theoretical and practical considerations and experiences). The seminar provides a platform for community discussions but is also open to non-structural biologists who might be interested in the topic.

Bioinformatics Seminar Series

The Bioinformatics Seminar is a seminar series organized together with the Faculty of Informatics in the interdisciplinary fields of Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, and Computational Biology. The seminar series aims to invite exciting speakers working on the current state-of-the-art bioinformatics problems. The goal is to broaden bioinformatics knowledge for scientists and students and promote mutual connections and interactions between bioinformaticians at MU.

Life Sciences Seminar Series

Life Sciences Seminar Series is a prestigious seminar series at Masaryk University in the interconnected and complementary fields, collectively called "Life Sciences".

The seminar series is mainly focused on currently growing fields which combine modern methods of biophysics, computational modeling, imaging, biochemistry and molecular biology with "more classical" disciplines such as microbiology, cell biology, physiology, genetics, toxicology, developmental and evolutionary biology and medicine.

This seminar series includes the Mendel Lectures.
