NCBR PhD Info Day + ExPBio PhD Info Day
- 18th September 2025
- NCBR PhD Info Day: 14:00 – 15:00
- ExPBio PhD Info Day: 15:00 – 16:30
- NCBR PhD Info Day: University Campus Bohunice, B11/205
- ExPBio PhD Info Day: University Campus Bohunice, C02/121
The attendance is mandatory for all 1st to 4th-year PhD candidates enrolled in the following programmes: Life Sciences, Biomolecular Chemistry and Bioinformatics, Genomics and Proteomics, and Experimental Plant Biology. At the NCBR PhD Info Day, you will receive information relevant to the entire PhD process, including important procedures and regulations. At the ExPBio PhD Info Day, you will be informed about the specific requirements of the ExPBio PhD programme. Moreover, you can meet with your collegues and also ask anything the key persons for your study (guarantors, PhD coordinators etc.). For students in higher years, attendance is strongly recommended, as important updates regarding study completion and funding will be shared.
Workshop: Macro to Micro: Quantitative Plant Imaging Across Scales
Date: 22-25 February 2026
Location: Buxted Park, East Sussex, UK
Organisers: Mark Fricker, Alexander Johnson, Joseph McKenna and Markéta Šámalová
https://www.biologists.com/workshops/february-2026-2/
This Workshop will showcase and bring together interdisciplinary researchers utilising imaging across different spatial levels in plants. There will be sessions dedicated to: Whole plant and tissue scales (e.g. Macroscopes, automated growth chambers, biosensors); Cellular and Subcellar scales (e.g. organelle dynamics, organelle-organelle contact sites, super-resolution imaging); Ultrastructural scales (e.g. CryoEM, serial block face EM); Quantification (e.g. AnalyzER, machine-learning analysis).
Stable Isotope Course
https://csebr.cz/vse-cs/kurz-stabilnich-izotopu/
September 15 – 20, 2025, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice
The 20th edition of the Stable Isotope Course is organized by the Department of Experimental Plant Biology of the University of South Bohemia in cooperation with the Technical University of Munich. This course is intended for students who wish to gain knowledge and practical skills in the application of stable isotopes.
Participants will learn the basics of stable isotopes. The course will then present their application in plant ecology and physiology, for example in studying plant–water relationships, carbon and nitrogen cycles, and ecosystem interactions.
