Biomolecular chemistry

To successfully complete the study, the student must obtain a minimum of 120 credits from compulsory, elective and optional courses. In addition, the student must complete a thesis according to the guidelines set forth by the Faculty of Science and the Biochemistry degree program. In case the student has already fulfilled these requirements or can expect them to be fulfilled no later than the date of the final examination, the student may register for the examination.

State Final Examination

The State Final Examination (SFE) consists of four separately assessed parts. It consists of an examination in three areas of study and a defence of the thesis before the State Examination Board. The examination and defence committees may be different. The SZZ is held twice a year, in a regular term (end of the spring semester) and an extraordinary term (end of the autumn semester). No other dates are possible.

Extraordinary situations

A student registered for the state final examination who does not meet all of the above requirements on the date of the CAP will not be admitted to any part of the final examination. In this case, the student will be required to register for the next semester, correct the deficiencies, and re-apply for the final exam. A student who has failed at least one of the separately assessed parts of the final examination will follow a similar procedure. The student must again enrol in the next semester of study and take the CAP at the next possible date. In this case, he/she repeats only those parts of the CAP in which he/she failed.
